Due to economy in Jakarta is stable, it brings positive implications toward traffic of Jakarta products export. In fact, the value of Jakarta product export in August 2011 reached 1.092 billion U.S dollars. The value increased by 8.21 percent from export value of Jakarta products in July 2011 which reached 1.008 billion U.S dollars.
Head of Jakarta Statistic Center Board (BPS), Agus Suherman stated that the increase of product export value in Jakarta proves export activities in Jakarta is strengthened and accelerated along January to August 2011. It is expected can bring positive impact to the progress of Jakarta economy.
“The contribution of export value of Jakarta products to the total of exports value through Jakarta along August 2011 was reached 26.60 percent. It meant an increase of 2.45 points from the contribution of previous month which reached 24.14 percent,” he said at Jakarta BPS office, Tuesday (11/1).
The main market of Jakarta products along August was still held by ASEAN countries. It can be seen as many as 35.29 percent of the total export of Jakarta products was marketed in ASEAN, or increased 3,93 points from ASEAN market share in the same month in 2010 which reached 31.36 percent. And 3.53 points higher than in July 2011 which only reached 31.76 percent.
In August, there are six commodities out of 10 superior commodities of non-oil and gas product exports were experienced increase than last year. The high increase happened in jewelry commodity/jewel with 43.01 million U.S dollars. Then followed by the commodities of ore, crust, and metal ash with 34.77 million U.S dollars, the commodities of machine/electric equipment 32.22 million U.S dollars, the commodities of vehicle and its equipment 14.80 million U.S dollars, the commodities of machines/mechanic plane 4.33 million U.S dollars and the commodity of knitted goods 2.68 million U.S dollars.
While four commodities which was decreased, namely fat commodity and animal/vegetable commodity, dress commodity but not knitted, fish and shrimp commodity, as well as volatile commodity, and perfume commodity.
Besides, Agus stated that along September 2011 ago, export value of non-oil and gas through Jakarta was reached 3.83 billion U.S dollars. This value decreased by 6.52 percent from export value in August 2011 which reached 4.10 billion U.S dollars.
Compared to the export value through Jakarta in period of January to September 2011 was higher with 33.40 percent or reached 34.32 billion U.S dollars, or increased up to 19.47 percent than the same period of last year.
As for the import value of non-oil and gas through Jakarta along September 2011 was reached 7.69 billion U.S dollars or increased by 6.46 percent from import value in August 2011. If it compared to the same month in 2012, import value in September 2011 was 50.08 percent higher
Based on usage of goods or broad economic category (BEC), the import value during January to September 2011 had increased for all groups, compared to the same period in last year. The consumer goods increased by 34.83 percent, the import value of raw and auxiliary materials increased by 32.03 percent, and the import value of capital goods increased by 19.08 percent.
